We Are H1 Learning

Updated: Apr 16, 2021

H1 Learning is a part of the H1 Healthcare Group and focuses on providing training solutions to H1 staff and our customers across the world. We also help unemployed young people to move into permanent jobs in the care sector, by providing an opportunity to take the first step on the ladder.

Internally our training supports both our nursing and care agency staff across the UK, as well as our business support staff. This ensures that everyone we support has access to the right training for them. Our training supports our colleagues through mandatory and revalidation training, as well as soft skills, business skills, leadership and management. We also support our staff to obtain the accredited qualifications they require to comply with care sector regulations.

Externally, we support our customers’ needs across several continents through our own learning management system, www.qintil.com. Qintil provides access to eLearning modules and virtual classroom sessions, as well as allowing customers to book on to face to face training. The topics are currently focused on learning & compliance in the healthcare sector. Qintil also provides wraparound HR support, enabling organisations to track compliance and make their HR policies and procedures more accessible, while interfacing with other HR systems.

We have also created an employability programme, using UK Government funding, to support unemployed young people into the care sector and help them to stay here. We provide a paid six-month placement, working three days per week, and all training, PPE and other costs are met by H1.

After a month’s induction with H1 training and compliance staff, two days each week are spent with H1 care and nursing staff on shift, learning what the day-to-day job involves while always being properly supported. Kickstarters are also supported one day each week by their dedicated H1 employability mentor, who will look after them and help them to get ready for and benefit from their placements as well as providing guidance on jobs and careers.

Forward planning is a huge part of the second half of each Kickstart placement, working towards a move into H1 post-placement, moving into a job with another healthcare employer or moving on with a clearly defined career plan and concrete next steps. We also keep in touch with our Kickstarters post-placement, supporting them with their next steps and job interviews.

Ideally, we want our Kickstarters to stay with H1, but we ensure that whatever the outcome of their placement they will move on with a plan.
